I am SO pumped to share an amazing Transformation Thursday with ya’ll of my great friend Ashlee! She just completed the 21 Day Fix & had AMAZING results!

So it has been two & a half week since I started my journey with PiYo & I am telling you, this is the best workout I have ever done in my life!

It was hard for me at first because I like to go, go, go & it’s hard for me to slow down. But, having a combination of Pilates & Yoga has helped me learn how to relax my mind & helps settle me down. It’s now the number one thing I look forward to every day. It’s also nice to have a break from all that high impact jumping {sorry to all you Insanity lovers}.

My favorite workouts so far would have to be Core & Buns. They seem the most intense to me & I feel SO SO sore from them. This morning trying to get out of bed, I felt like a granny walking because my legs were so sore. The benefit is that my core is getting more defined than I have ever seen & my cellulite in my legs looks like it may completely disappear soon {win!}. Ladies will understand that one.

The meal plan is super simple to follow & I don’t feel hungry at all! I get to enjoy what I eat every day & feel super full of energy.

Getting Back on Track

Did your holiday weekend look a little like this? If it did, don’t fret! We all get off track sometimes! I had a few treats myself yesterday, but I am not going to beat myself up for it!! You are better than that, so DO NOT let defeat win, K!?

The most important thing to do for getting back on track with your fitness goals is to just accept it & move on. Today is a new day, a new chance, you can start over. I wanted to give you a few quick tips to help you towards getting back on track right away.

  1. Drink lots of water
  2. Eat lots of veggies & fruit
  3. Get moving & burn some calories!
  4. Get more steps in today by taking the stairs
  5. Grab an accountability partner to help you stay on track

Getting back on track is possible & you don’t have to feel bad! I promise if you do all of this, you will feel better by the end of the day!

I am also looking forward to getting that junk out of my system & feeling renewed, lighter & leaner, & full of energy! I am hosting a special group that will also be a detox where you DON’T STARVE! You get to eat lots of real food! I did the 3 Day Refresh after Vegas & lost 5 lbs just in 3 days.

Happy Monday lovelies! I know there are so many of you out there starting PiYo or getting ready to start later this month. So, today I wanted to share with you how to get your kitchen ready for PiYo!

Your results from any fitness program or exercise you do are 80% nutrition, 20% fitness. Mind blowing right?! I always thought if I just worked out really hard I could lose weight (before I lost 60 lbs). I would literally take diet pills, eat like crap, drink a ton of alcohol, but workout & expect it to work. After losing that weight & learning a lot more about nutrition, I still didn’t understand the importance of this until last year. So because of all my struggles I’ve been through, I want to help you get your kitchen ready for PiYo.

I know that this part can be the most overwhelming. If you’re like me, you hate to cook. I love food, but cooking I mean who enjoys that?! LOL. Plus I keep so busy that it feels there’s no time for it. BUT I have embraced meal planning & prepping even though I hate it. Because it helps keep me on track, only takes a couple hours to do, & helps me feel stress free during the week when I’m busy because I can just grab & go.

So you may be thinking, “well how do I make time for it? I barely have time to sleep.” Well, I will just say that it’s all about priorities. You will make time for what’s a priority to you. So if you want to lose weight, get healthy, or get those abs that are hiding (like mine do so often :P) then you’ll figure it out. Take an hour off your time watching TV or playing Facebook games & just make it happen. So here’s how to get your kitchen ready for PiYo!

1. Figure out your daily caloric needs & then pick out recipes

2. Write out in a planner your meals for the week

3. Take an hour to meal prep everything for the week

I know this seems daunting, but I promise you once you do it you will feel so much better.

I also wanted to give you some of my meal ideas:

Breakfast
Egg white & veggie omelette with a slice of cinnamon raisin Ezekiel bread
Oatmeal & egg white & veggie omelette
Oatmeal with Shakeology (chocolatey & full of protein!)

Lunch
Strawberry, avocado, spinach & chicken salad

Veggies & hummus

These are just a few tips from the beginning of my PiYo journey. Today starts week 2 & I am SO IN LOVE with this program!! So I will DEF be sharing more tips with you as I go!

Happy Thursday everyone! I am having an AMAZING morning so far & I hope you are, too!! I did a happy dance this morning as I stepped on the scale after doing the 3 Day Refresh, woohoo!!

I ate as healthy as I could during my trip to Vegas last week. But, I did consume pasta, frozen yogurt, & chips & salsa. We were also so busy that it was hard to get enough sleep or stay hydrated. I was also 3 hours behind my normal time zone. So my body was all jacked up! Needless to say, I felt super puffy & bloated like a busted can of biscuits when I got back Sunday. But, my 3 Day Refresh results were AMAZING!!!

I started getting my abs back just after the first day and a half.

I know everyone always tells me that I am too self critical. That I don’t need to lose weight. That I look just fine. But, I am not doing this for anyone else. I am doing this for myself. To feel GOOD. And I did NOT feel good after Vegas. So my 3 Day Refresh results made me SO HAPPY!

After losing 60 lbs & busting my booty to do that, I still have to work super hard to stay fit. It doesn’t come natural to me, my dad’s side of the family struggles with being overweight. So any time I see the scale starting to go up & I know it’s not from muscle, I get myself in check.

So, about the 3 Day Refresh (I get distracted easily haha). I got to eat A LOT more than you do on any other cleanse. I also got to enjoy herbal tea three times a day. That was my favorite part, it felt so relaxing!

I have done other cleanses before & I just felt HANGRY. Like super angry, wanted to punch a baby. (Not really, I am not mean like that. Just sarcastic k?!) Then I would always want to binge eat after I was done because I barely  had any food. But, with the 3 Day Refresh I didn’t feel hungry & I am not binging today after being done like I would normally do.

So here are my 3 Day Refresh Results!

I lost a total of 5 lbs & 2 inches & got some of my abs back, YAY!!!

I truly can see a difference everywhere: in my arms, my face, my tummy, my legs. My shorts are looser. My cellulite went away. I know abs aren’t important to everyone, but I have never had abs before in my life. So, I felt pretty accomplished having them before Vegas & pretty bummed that I looked like a busted can of biscuits when I got back haha.

So, those are my 3 Day Refresh Results! I absolutely loved it & have so much energy right now & just feel SO good!! It was a great way to cleanse my system, lose some weight, & just jump start my new fitness program (PIYO!!!).

I think I am going to do one of these every few months because it’s just a great way to get all that junk out of your body. I am SOOO happy!!! This is by far the best cleanse I have ever done! Thank you Beachbody!

Strive for Progress Not Perfection

As I mentioned the other day on Facebook, I had  an off week last week with my eating. I had some left over snacks from a girls night at my apartment that I wouldn’t normally keep here. I had a snack attack several nights this week & missed my workout yesterday. But, it’s all about progress not perfection.But instead of beating myself up, I focused on how far I’ve come & the healing God is giving me. If this would’ve been me just a few months ago, I would’ve been on my bathroom floor crying & probably with a spoon & a jar of cookie butter (it’s like crack, don’t buy it). Again, progress not perfection!

But this week I instead accepted the fact that I was human & celebrated the fact that it was only half a jar of peanut butter I consumed (that’s a lot I know, but I’m just being real). And I got right back to eating healthy on a Saturday out of all days! Strive for progress not perfection! 

Normally I would’ve been like, “yeah I will wait till Monday it’s the weekend,” because I knew I had a lot planned with friends & stuff going on at church. But I instead made healthy choices being out the entire weekend. I feel almost back to normal!

I say all this to say that I’m not where I want to be (my abs have gone in to hiding after this week lol), but I sure as hell ain’t where I used to be! I’m not in fetal position with sweets, I’m sipping my Shakeology enjoying the sunshine instead. 

So strive for progress, not perfection peeps! No more beating yourself up because I care about you!
