Do you dread going to the gym to work out because it’s so boring? Do you call the treadmill the “dreadmill”? I used to loathe going to the gym! I never enjoyed working out until I started Beachbody workouts at home. Then I fell in love! So, get out of the gym!  Work out the fun way! Who needs a gym?

Turbo Fire is by far one of the most fun Beachbody programs I have done so far! I have several reasons why this program is my absolutely favorite:

Doing Beachbody programs have literally changed my life! I’m finally now happy with the way that I look.  I feel confident for once in my life, I’m empowered & feel so strong, & I feel so much happier & healthier every day. So work out the fun way with me!  Again, who needs a gym?!

Celebrating Freedom & Dependence on God

Independence Day Celebrating Freedom & Dependence on God

Happy 4th of July everyone! In honor of Independence Day, I wanted to share with you how I celebrate my freedom & my dependence on God. He has truly helped me overcome so many struggles in my life. I seriously feel like I went from being in bondage to now breaking those chains & being in freedom. It feels amazing!

I celebrate God giving freedom because I fell in love with Jesus and learned how to have a relationship with God. Now, I work every day to live like Jesus. A few years ago I was dark, depressed, overweight and far away from God. I went through my teenage years being tormented through a verbally abusive marriage that ended in divorce at age 19. After that in college I lived a life of partying . I lost 60 pounds at the age of 21. My body was healthy but my mind and soul weren’t. I hit rock bottom after a bad break up and became depressed. I decided to start attending church more often. I got baptized, joined a life group, started volunteering at church and in the community, started reading my Bible and praying daily.

My dependence on God is what has helped me through so many difficult times and obstacles in life. He has given me vision for what He wants me to do with my life. But I’ve often felt stuck not knowing how to fulfill that vision. One night a few months ago, I surrendered my entire life to God. I spend a lot of time with Him in prayer and ask for help with specific things so that I can help others through my fitness coaching. After praying more and seeking Him each day, He helped me get to the point with my business that I could quit my full-time job. I feel so blessed. Now I always say, “God is working in all of us, He just needs you to stop trying to control everything yourself, let it go, seek Him, and just have faith!”

My favorite Beachbody workout for women would BY FAR be Chalean Extreme. I have several reasons why this program is my absolutely favorite:

  1. You’re lifting weights & building muscle so that you burn more fat
  2. Your metabolism will speed up due to the extra muscle

  4. The workouts are no longer than 45 minutes, most around 35 minutes a day
  5. The nutrition program that accompanies the program will help you get healthy & achieve the best possible results
  6. This workout made me actually LOVE working out – I used to loathe working out, even after losing 60 lbs.
  7. I can eat more food, who doesn’t love that?!

As you can see, there are so many reasons to love this program & I recommend it to all my friends. This is my favorite Beachbody workout for women because gaining muscle will literally change your life. You will feel so empowered after each workout because you’ll find that you can lift a lot heavier than what you ever thought. Lifting weights isn’t just for guys & it doesn’t bulk you up. You’ll actually be leaner & more toned by lifting weights. Cardio alone cannot give you those results.

I wanted to share my story of Chalean Extreme & why it is my favorite Beachbody workout for women. I just competed my second round a couple of weeks ago. When I first became a coach I did this program, but my nutrition wasn’t in order. I didn’t really have any results & pretty much stayed the same. Since then, I’ve tried P90X, the Ultimate Reset, & Turbo Fire. But, I was honestly shying away from lifting weights because I knew that muscle weighed more than fat & the scale would go up. Here’s my transformation from a few years ago to today.

Since I’ve lost 60 lbs a couple years ago, the scale has been a mental battle for me. I’ve always known that muscle would make me weigh more & always wanted to be toned, but I didn’t want that scale to budge so I was literally living so unhealthy. I was eating 1200 calories a day & doing nothing but cardio workouts. I was still in the “weight loss mentality” & it became very dangerous. I hadn’t yet discovered my favorite Beachbody workout.

Then one day one of my close friends told me that I needed to get over this & stop being unhealthy. So he helped me realize that I needed to start eating 1800 calories a day. I became so tired of having cellulite & flab, so I knew I had to accept this & just do it. So, I started doing Chalean Extreme to lift heavy weights. I discovered what clean eating was all about & started fueling my body with proper nutrition. This is what I looked like prior to starting my hybrid of Chalean Extreme & Brazil Butt Lift & then also my after.

Do you feel like your emotions are completely controlling you? I’ve been there before & I still struggle with it to this day. If you follow me on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter you’ve seen my posts this week about my workouts. If I didn’t know better, I would let my emotions control me.  I haven’t felt like doing them, but I’ve pushed through & done it any way & felt amazing afterwards. There’s been days where I haven’t felt like getting up when my alarm goes off because I’m just so comfy. But, I know I have to if I want to achieve the goals I set out for myself this year.

As I mentioned in my post earlier this week, I am so blessed to have found my true passion in life. Yes, that makes it a little easier to get motivated. But, honestly not all the time! It has not been easy getting where I am now. God took me through many hard times & struggles to get there, but now I can understand why I went through everything. If I would’ve never been 200 lbs half my life, gone through a terrible divorce, & worked at a job that was not suited for me & made me depressed, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I was letting my emotions totally take control of me.

We are all guilty of letting our emotions run our life at times. Our emotions control a lot of decisions we make on a daily basis. Do you ever feel too sore to go for a run so you convince yourself to take a day off? How about feeling like you’re too afraid to go after a certain goal because people may judge you, so you just don’t do anything? What about feeling like you’re not good enough to achieve a certain goal or you can’t do it like someone else did because you’re not like them, so you don’t ever live up to your full potential? Maybe you don’t feel like quitting smoking cigarettes, drinking alcohol, or giving up bad foods because you just don’t know how you’ll live without them? Or how about the classic, you don’t feel like cooking a healthy meal so instead you go to the drive thru?

We’ve all been there friends! This was seriously me my whole life! I always let my emotions control me. I never thought that my life would look the way it does now, even if you would’ve asked me 60 days ago, I would’ve had no clue!

So, I can truly relate to others when they’re struggling through hard times in life because I know exactly how it feels. You may think that my life now doesn’t include any struggles, but you’re completely wrong. I have days where I don’t want to workout & make excuses in my head of why I shouldn’t do it, I don’t always eat perfectly & occasionally have a horrible eating day, & I still struggle with negative & toxic thoughts on occasion. I have days where my emotions seriously control me & I don’t do my best.

Becoming a coach & being a part of our challenge groups & a community of amazing like minded people is what has changed my entire life. Being in that community has caused me to not let my emotions control me anymore. I may have lost 60 lbs before I became a coach, but it’s not easy staying motivated on your own. It’s a total life changer having a community of positive like-minded people who also have goals & will help you achieve them.

And speaking of fitness, I absolutely love this saying, “Good things come to those who get off their butts, work hard, & never give up.” That is so true! Sometimes we may not feel like doing or workout, but keep your goals and your “why” in mind. Don’t forget them!! ☺We cannot let our emotions control our entire life!

My 12 Day Challenge just ended & almost all of my clients lost around 8 pounds! They stopped letting their emotions control their daily decisions about health & fitness. They are full of ENERGY, thanking me for pushing them to get started, saying they love what they learned during the challenge, & they now feel motivated & excited to exercise & eat healthy. Let Go Let God Struggling to Find Yourself? Youre Not Alone!

Do you feel like you’re struggling to find yourself? Are you unsure of your path in life & where you’re supposed to be going? I felt this way for most of my life friends.

I stumbled across a wonderful quote on Pinterest that I wanted to share with you all. “We must be willing to let go of the life we have planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us” – Joseph Campbell. This particular quote truly hit home with me because of what I have been through the past five years of my life. I had no idea who I was because of many different experiences I went through.

I will make a very long story short because most of you probably have watched my You Tube video or read my story. I was overweight most of my life, was struggling emotionally, had no self confidence, & I didn’t respect myself or anyone else. I got married and divorced by the time I was just 20 years old. After that I was in a long distance relationship for a few years & that ended badly.

During all these bad breakups in my college days, I decided I had to make a huge change & get healthier. I transformed that aspect of my life in just a few short years & lost 60 lbs. I also quit smoking (I smoked a pack of cigarettes a day) & stopped partying. That process & my breakups were extremely hard on me, but those struggles lead me to open up my eyes to letting go of what I thought I was supposed to do with my life. I thought I knew who I was & where I was supposed to go, but God had something else in store for me.

When I graduated college with my Bachelor’s in Business Administration I was certain I was supposed to work in the marketing field. God had other plans for me because that didn’t work out. I ended up in education working at a university in Georgia & even got my Master’s in Higher Education. I worked there for almost four years, but then God really showed me His path was much different than where I thought I was supposed to go.

As most of you know, I quit my full-time job to pursue my passion as a Beachbody Coach. If you would’ve asked me just a few months ago if I would’ve ever imagined that I would be able to quit my full-time job, double my income, & work only 20 hours a week I would’ve laughed in your face. But, I know my God & Savior has huge plans for my life because I can already see them coming into fruition. I’m just so blessed that I can do it for Him & to serve His kingdom!

Struggling Struggling to Find Yourself? Youre Not Alone!

I have grown so much closer to God & He has seriously transformed every aspect of my life this year. 2012 has been the best year yet for me because I had faith in Him & trusted what His will is for my life. I’m not sure yet where the rest of my life will lead me, but I’m not going to stress it. I’m going to let go of what I thought I was supposed to do and give it to Him!

I wanted to share this with you to let you know that we all struggle sometimes. Heck you guys half of my life was a struggle in more than one way! If you’re hurting in some way, I’m here for you & so is God. Just keep your faith & stay strong because amazing things are to come!

This year has been an amazing year for me because my God is an amazing God. I have truly learned that you must overcome a negative mindset in order to live the life you’ve always wanted & you must believe in yourself. You can rely on God for His strength in order to carry you through.

If you would’ve told me 3 years ago that I would be a fitness coach & love working out  I would’ve laughed in your face. My favorite pastimes & hobbies used to be smoking a pack of cigarettes a day, getting drunk every night, eating fried foods in excess, disrespecting myself & others, the list goes on. My God is an amazing God though who saves & He carried me through all that! I’m so blessed that I’m now healthy & love myself & that I have the opportunity to teach others how to do the same. I know God designed this life for me & I know struggling for half of my life was all for a reason. And to me it is so worth it because I’m helping shine His light in this world. ❤ Praise God, I’m so thankful & blessed!

In January & May of this year I went to two conferences by Dani Johnson that literally have changed my entire life. I learned how to improve my professional life, relationships with others, with myself, my spiritual life, learned tips on getting out of debt, & how to be successful with my business. I also learned how to get past those things that were holding me back from my success. We all have those things that we’ve held on to because of being hurt by others in the past. I realized I had some apologizing to do to people as well & reached out to each of them & just asked for forgiveness.

Everything that I learned at these conferences were EXACTLY what I needed to hear. I tend to doubt myself & not have much confidence because of the struggles I’ve gone through in my past. Dani talks a lot at the conference about how 98% of Americans have big goals & dreams for their lives, but they don’t feel like they can actually make them happen. Only 2% of people actually believe & do what it takes to make their wildest dreams come to fruition!

I was doubting myself a lot before going to this conference. I felt guilty for wanting success in my life, but then I realized at this conference that God wants to bless us! He blesses those that are faithful to Him & that help show the love of Jesus to others & help further His kingdom. God gave me a vision this year to become certified as a personal trainer (which I did!) & that one day I will write a book & become a motivational speaker.

Those are big & scary goals to me because I don’t have a background & health & fitness, nor writing, nor motivational speaking. But, I know now that I have to change my mindset – I CAN DO IT! God will help me do it! I am seeking out the tools & resources that I need so that I can help change others’ lives in a positive way. God helped me literally transform every aspect of my life. I went from being overweight, depressed, & in the dark to losing 60 lbs, being extremely happy & helping spread the light & love of Jesus!

It’s seriously all about mindset y’all! What I’m about to tell you is what I learned at the conference & I desperately needed to hear this to apply to my life. I wanted to share it with you in hopes that it can inspire you as well. I have no doubt that what I learned & applied from the first conference in January is what took my business to the point where I was able to quit my full-time job.

Trust God How to Overcome a Negative Mindset

Life & death is in the power of the tongue. You have to appreciate what you have now in life. What you feed will flourish & what you neglect will die. Gratitude & thanksgiving are the combination to the lock that opens the vault to blessing. I’m living a life of freedom now & I never thought it was possible. But, I had to get over a lot of excuses I was making for myself & stop complaining about my situation that I was in. I learned to appreciate everything that I have & if I want to change something, then to figure out a way to do it.

I say this all as encouragement for all of you out there, too. None of this has been easy for me, I’ve had so many struggles. But is it worth it? Absolutely! I wouldn’t trade anything for it!
