{Confession time!!} All right y’all time to be real!! Since I moved last month, I’ve had trouble staying motivated to workout, even though I LOVE PiYo, I would just wake up & not feel like doing anything. I also had not been eating enough & not eating the right foods.

I had been feeling so off & wondering why! Feeling bad about myself. Then was like “oh snap, Jess you haven’t been taking great care of yourself.” And that’s why I wasn’t motivated to workout!

So since I don’t enjoy calorie counting, I decided to take out my 21 Day Fix containers & start measuring my portions & getting the right foods in.

Well that’s only been 4 days I have more energy, my clothes are feeling looser, & my abs are already coming back out! Abs aren’t the most important thing for me, but I measure myself based on NON scale victories. I actually have no clue how much I weigh, I threw out my scale (so freeing!).

I also feel motivated again to workout, so motivated I decided to throw in P90X3 in with my PiYo because I had such amazing results leaning out with it earlier this year.

So I say all that to say, thank you Jesus for these amazing programs! And that we all get off sometimes and that’s okay. Don’t beat yourself up. Figure out what you can tweak to fix it and move on. Progress not perfection peeps!

Happy Tuesday lovelies! Sorry I have been MIA. But, if you’re following me on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram you know I was in Vegas at Coach Summit 2014! I had an absolutely AMAZING time & it was by far the best thing that’s happened to me all year! I wanted to share my journey with you because this opportunity has absolutely changed my entire life. My prayer is that I can touch your heart & help change yours as well.

The reason I want to share all of this is because just a little over a year ago I was just like many of you. I was working at a corporate job, sometimes 80+ hours a week & doing my master’s degree at the same time. I was overworked, underpaid, exhausted, unfulfilled, & just downright miserable. I didn’t have time for anything that I enjoyed doing.

I didn’t have time to go visit my family or to spend with my friends. But, one day I decided to give coaching a shot. Only because I wanted to help people. I didn’t care if I ever made money & didn’t think I would honestly. I had lost 60 lbs a few years ago & just wanted to help people lose weight & change their lives like mine had been changed from my journey.

I am so happy that I gave it a chance because in May of last year I was able to quit my full-time job & move to the city of my dreams. God is so good! I earn substantially more working very part time hours (that I schedule myself!) than I ever did in my director level job & now have so much time to do all the things I love. Everyone deserves to have a life like this, a life that you design. That is why I wanted to share my experience with you about Coach Summit 2014. Because this opportunity has completely changed my life & EVERYONE deserves to be surrounded by a community of amazing people that are healthy, happy, & that help you become a better person & hold you accountable to achieving your goals!

I arrived to Coach Summit 2014 on Wednesday & got to meet one of the coaches I mentor on my team, Tawnay, for the first time in person! We met on my Facebook fan page last year & just knew we were kindred spirits immediately. It was such a blessing being able to get to meet her & fellowship together & also have a bunch of fun!

So the purpose of Coach Summit 2014 was for all of us coaches to come together & have fun at a ton of parties, workouts live with the celebrity trainers like Shaun T & Chalene Johnson, & go to personal development workshops so that we can become even better coaches & help more people. Our goal is to help people lead healthy fulfilling lives through the coaching opportunity & also with our challenge groups. It was so inspiring to see so many coaches recognized on stage for being completely debt free & also for being million dollar earners. I just KNOW that I will be recognized for debt free next year & million dollar earner before I’m 30! Speaking of being on stage in front of 10,000 , I got recognized on stage for advancing my business & helping a lot of people!

This company is seriously so amazing & has changed my life! We wake up excited every day because we LOVE what we do  &  get rewarded for helping people change their lives. I mean how amazing is that?! God is so good!

Oh and how could I forget!? One of the highlights of Coach Summit 2014 was meeting Chalene Johnson, Shaun T, & Tony Horton!

Oh! Speaking of Chalene Johnson!!! I got my copy of PiYo!!!!!! I started yesterday & it has been absolutely AMAAAZING!! It’s so nice to have a low impact workout that also still really works your muscles, but without crazy jumping & high impact on your joints. I am so excited for my test group starting on July 7th. And one of my absolute FAVORITE moments was hearing one of the Beachbody challenge winners (who won $100,000) say that before he was waiting to die & now he is just waiting to live. I mean HOW AMAZING is that, that we have a chance to change lives in such a way! We are saving lives & I am so blessed to be a part of it!

So that was my EPIC experience at Coach Summit 2014!! I know I will be taking hundreds of you with me next year & cannot WAIT to help change your life!

Today I wanted to write about something that I also struggle with in hopes that it’ll help others. Ever since losing 60 lbs a few years ago & keeping it off, I have struggled with binge eating. I will decide to go on these crazy restrictive diets & then when I am done & can have “real food” again, I tend to get out of control.

Most recently I was doing probably the most restrictive diet I have ever done in my life & it caused me to end up binging pretty bad at Christmas. I literally just wrote ya’ll a post Monday about how to stay healthy, but I didn’t follow it myself. Sweets are totally my weakness so I overindulged on several cookies & lots of Sangria. But for once, I am not going to beat myself up & am going to take this as a learning lesson. I have decided no more crazy restrictive diets, I will just eat healthy & allow myself small treats in moderation so that I don’t feel the need to overindulge.

So because of all this I was doing some research on how to overcome binge eating so I wanted to share it with ya’ll, too.

  1. Mange your stress. Find alternate ways to handle stress such as exercising, meditating, or other relaxation practices.
  2. Eat 3 meals a day plus healthy snacks. Be sure that you’re eating every 2-3 hours & consuming healthy foods. Think lots of whole grains, lean proteins, veggies, & fruits.
  3. Avoid temptation. Remove all the junk food from your house so it’s not there to tempt you.
  4. Stop dieting. Avoid banning certain foods & focus on just having things in moderation when you are craving something “unhealthy.”
  5. Exercise. It will help boost your mood & the positive emotions can put a stop to binge eating.
  6. Fight boredom. Distract yourself from eating by taking a walk, calling a friend, or reading a book.
  7. Get enough sleep. Make sure you’re getting 7-8 hours a night.
  8. Listen to your body. Learn to distinguish physical hunger & emotional hunger. Drink a glass of water & if you’re still hungry 15 minutes later, than you’re truly hungry.
  9. Keep a food diary. Track what you’re eating. You’ll be less likely to eat too much if you know you have to write it down.
  10. Get support. Use your family & friends to lean on. Join a support group.

I know the one that stood out to me most was “stop dieting” because that’s basically the only one that I’m struggling with now. I also know that having a huge support system around me helps so much!
